Vanworks began in 1980 in Keith Hess's garage in Ft. Collins, Colorado. Hess, a carpenter, built the van interiors one at a time. He was able to produce about one van a month on a part-time basis.

By 1983, Vanworks' growing reputation meant expansion, and the company moved to a 3,000-square-foot facility and doubled its work force (Hess hired an assistant). From these humble beginnings, Vanworks slowly began to grow and flourish, and by the early 1990s the company had so much work that it moved into the new 50,000-square-foot production space it occupies to this day.

Hess says the key to his success is quality, value and service. Vanworks uses only first-class vendors, which in turn helps generate outstanding products.

Vanworks conversion vans are sold by dealers in the Rocky Mountain region and in the Southwest.
